TikTok and Apple Music Partner for Seamless Streaming Experience

TikTok users will soon be able to listen to full-length songs directly within the app, thanks to a new partnership with Apple Music. The collaboration introduces two key features: Play Full Song and Listening Party, designed to bridge the gap between music discovery on TikTok and full-track streaming on Apple Music.

Play Full Song: Instant Access

Apple Music subscribers who encounter a song snippet on TikTok can now click a button to instantly stream the complete version without leaving the app. This feature will open the Apple Music player within TikTok, allowing users to save tracks, add them to playlists, and explore personalized song recommendations. The integration ensures that artists are compensated through Apple Music’s royalty system when their songs are played in full.

“Tapping into the music you love should feel effortless,” said Ole Obermann, co-head of Apple Music. This feature streamlines the listening experience, turning casual discovery into deeper engagement.

Listening Party: Real-Time Music Sharing

TikTok is also launching Listening Party, a feature similar to Spotify’s social listening rooms. Users can join real-time sessions to listen to the same tracks simultaneously while interacting live in the app. Musicians can even participate, chatting directly with fans during these sessions.

“TikTok is where music discovery and culture move at the speed of the community,” said Tracy Gardner, global head of music business development at TikTok. “This partnership brings artists and fans closer, fostering lasting connections.”

Why this matters: TikTok has become a major driver of music discovery, but users have previously been limited to short clips. This integration solves that issue, providing a direct path from viral snippets to full-length listening. This is a win for both Apple Music and TikTok — boosting engagement while ensuring fair artist compensation.

Play Full Song and Listening Party will roll out globally over the next few weeks.
