Tecno Showcases Ultra-Slim Concept Phones at MWC 2026

Tecno Mobile unveiled a new line of aggressively slim concept phones at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, continuing a trend within the industry toward thinner and more compact mobile designs. The showcased devices include an upgraded version of the Tecno Spark Slim and a novel trifold foldable phone, both pushing the boundaries of hardware miniaturization.

Slim 2: Further Reducing Mobile Thickness

The Tecno Slim 2 builds on last year’s Spark Slim, reducing its frame from 5.93mm to an even more slender 5.49mm. While the difference is marginal, it demonstrates the ongoing commitment from manufacturers to shave off every possible millimeter. The Slim 2 also boasts ultra-narrow 0.7mm bezels, maximizing screen real estate within its compact form.

Despite its slim profile, the concept phone includes a substantial 6,150 mAh battery and a dual-camera system featuring 50MP and 13MP sensors. This combination suggests that Tecno is prioritizing battery life and camera capabilities alongside extreme thinness.

Phantom Ultimate G Fold: A Trifold Tablet in Pocket Form

Tecno also presented the Phantom Ultimate G Fold, a trifold foldable that measures just 3.49mm thick when unfolded and 11.49mm when folded. When fully extended, it transforms into a 9.94-inch display, resembling a lightweight tablet.

The device includes a 5,750 mAh battery and a triple-camera setup with 50MP sensors. While the crease in the folding mechanism is still visible (as with most current foldables), it appears less pronounced than in other models.

The Broader Trend of Slimming Phones

These concept devices reflect a growing trend among major mobile manufacturers – including Apple, Samsung, and Motorola – toward thinner handsets. The focus is shifting towards devices that prioritize sleekness over bulk, appealing to consumers who value portability and aesthetics.

Foldable phones are also becoming slimmer, with models from Samsung, Honor, and Oppo leading the way. High-profile competitors like Huawei and Samsung have already released trifold designs, further demonstrating the industry’s interest in flexible form factors.

The availability of Tecno’s latest concepts remains unconfirmed, but their release would align with the current market direction. The emphasis on slim designs suggests a growing consumer demand for more portable and refined mobile experiences.
