TCL NxtPaper 70 Pro: A Phone That Writes Like a Notebook

12

TCL has expanded its NxtPaper line with a new device designed to bridge the gap between smartphones and traditional note-taking. The NxtPaper 70 Pro, unveiled at CES 2026, introduces stylus support alongside the series’ signature paper-like display, aiming to provide a more versatile user experience.

Enhanced Writing Experience

Unlike previous NxtPaper models focused on reading, the 70 Pro can be used with TCL’s pressure-sensitive T-Pen. This means users can write directly on the screen with a natural feel, making the device useful for sketching, note-taking, or annotating documents. The stylus is sold separately, but it expands the phone’s functionality beyond media consumption.

Improved Camera Capabilities

The NxtPaper 70 Pro also features TCL’s new MuseFilm technology. This is designed to enhance the quality of photos taken with the phone’s 50-megapixel main camera and 32-megapixel front camera. TCL claims MuseFilm can deliver cinematic effects, including realistic bokeh for portrait shots.

Key Specifications

The device runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor and comes with either 256GB or 512GB of storage. It includes a 5,200mAh battery with 33W fast charging and is rated IP68 for water and dust resistance. These specs position the phone as a mid-range device with a focus on durability and battery life.

Price and Availability

The NxtPaper 70 Pro will initially launch in Europe in February, priced at €339 (roughly $400) for the 256GB model. TCL plans to expand availability to North America and other markets later. The T-Pen stylus will be sold as a separate purchase.

The TCL NxtPaper 70 Pro stands out by combining the benefits of a smartphone with the functionality of a digital notebook. It’s a practical option for those who want a device that caters to both entertainment and productivity.
