Boox Launches Second-Generation Go 10.3 E-Ink Tablet with Android 15

Boox has released the second generation of its Go 10.3 e-ink tablet, offering a direct competitor to devices like the Kindle Scribe. The new line includes the standard Go 10.3 and the Go 10.3 Lumi, the latter featuring an enhanced dual-tone front light for comfortable nighttime reading.

Key Upgrades: Android 15 and Storage

The most significant update is the move to Android 15, a substantial leap from the Android 12 found in the previous generation. This upgrade grants users full access to the Google Play Store, unlocking compatibility with a vast range of apps including popular ebook platforms like Libby, Kindle, and Kobo.

The Go 10.3 also boasts 64GB of storage —four times the capacity of many conventional e-readers. This allows ample space for extensive digital libraries, audiobooks (supported via built-in speakers), and other documents. The tablet handles 26 file formats including PDF, EPUB, MOBI, and DOCX.

Design and Display

Both models maintain a slim profile. The Go 10.3 measures just 4.6 millimeters thick and weighs 12.7 ounces, while the Lumi is slightly thicker at 4.8 millimeters and weighs 12.8 ounces. Both feature a crisp 300 ppi resolution, comparable to the Kindle Scribe.

The tablets are designed with digital note-taking in mind, shipping with the Boox Magnetic InkSense Plus stylus and a protective slim magnetic case.

Pricing and Availability

The Boox Go 10.3 (Gen II) is priced at $419.99, while the Go 10.3 Lumi (Gen II) retails for $449.99. Both are available now through Boox’s official store and Amazon as of March 17th.

Boox’s new tablet is positioned for direct comparison with recent competitors, with reviewers eager to test its performance against devices like the latest Kindle Scribe. The expanded Android capabilities and storage capacity could make it a compelling option for users seeking a versatile e-reading and note-taking device.
